Patong Residence, Patong Beach and Songkran festival
Patong beach is located in southern Thailand on Phuket island west coast, about 40
minutes away from Phuket International Airport.
Phuket is Thailand’s best know beach destination and its sandy beaches stretch to a mountainous interior dominated by lush forest.
Patong beach is one of Phuket’s most popular beaches and offer you white sandy beaches and cosmopolitan Phuket nightlife.
Patong is without a doubt the center of the island’s
nightlife scene. Bars in Patong can be roughly divided into beer bars, go-go bars and regular bars, wich don’t have Patong’s girls for take out.
The scene in Patong is centred around bangla road and its many offshoots.
The road runs perpendicular to the beach road towards the northern end of Patong.
Bangla road is only about half kilometre and is pedestrianised in the evening.
Almost all of the bar is outdoor so the music from each one is deafening.
Beers bar occupy most of the street’s length, with several a go-go and
a few pubs, restaurants, disco and shops rounding out the attractions both in bangla and down its side streets.
In patong beach you can find many rooms at different prices to suit every taste.
Songkran New Year is the calendar, celebrated in Burma, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand,
the celebrations last for three days in mid-April, may vary between 10 and 15 during the change of position of the sun in the ring of the zodiac,
a religious festival that marks the end and / or the beginning of the Buddhist year.
This tradition is somehow connected in the countries of the Buddhist tradition and still observed,
temple offerings provided by spraying water on Buddha images then transformed in tourism festival in which a flood of people pouring into the street taking with buckets of water, symbolizing good fortune and sign of the expulsion of bad luck.
