Big buddha . Phuket
Phuket’s Big Buddha is situated on top of the Nakkerd Hills
between Chalong and Karon,
it’s 45 meters tall and easily seen from far away.
The lofty site offers a very beautifull 360-degree views of the island,
It looks towards Phang Nga Bay in the east
and backs towards Andaman Sea in the west.
Inside the meditation hall is a platform where a line of monks
are sometimes seen sitting and chanting.
The statue has been constructed with reinforced concrete and encased
in 135 tons of Burmese white marble.
The Big Buddha is reached by turning west onto Soi Jaofa 51 off Chaofa West Road,
about 1.5 kilometres north of Chalong Circle.
Follow the signs to the top of the hill.

IN 135 TONS OF BURMESE WHITE MARBLE.
THE BIG BUDDHA IS REACHED BY TURNING WEST ONTO SOI JAOFA 51 OFF CHAOFA WEST ROAD,
ABOUT 1.5 KILOMETRES NORTH OF CHALONG CIRCLE.
